Cowasjee Jehangir Convocation Hall, University of Mumbai

The Cowasjee Jehangir Convocation Hall is a prominent Neo-Gothic building defined by its twenty-four-foot diameter rose window, which features stained glass panels depicting the twelve signs of the Zodiac. Completed in eighteen seventy-four, this hall was funded by the Parsi philanthropist Sir Cowasjee Jehangir Readymoney and sits on the eastern edge of the Oval Maidan. Its design came from the British architect Sir George Gilbert Scott, who prepared the drawings from his office in London without ever visiting the site.
