Udasin Akhara Sangal Wala is one of the historic spiritual centers established in the eighteenth century by the Udasi sect, a group of ascetic monks tracing their lineage to Sri Chand, the eldest son of Guru Nanak. Founded in seventeen seventy-one, the site was originally called Nirban Akhara. In the decades that followed, it became known for its role as a hub for education, housing students who studied Gurmukhi, mathematics, and scriptures within its walls.
