The Partition Museum occupies the historic Town Hall building, a structure characterized by its arcaded verandahs, a gabled clock front, and the symmetric, severe aesthetic of nineteenth-century British colonial administration. Built around eighteen seventy and often attributed to the architect John Gordon, this building once functioned as a hub for local British authority, housing a police headquarters, jail cells, and the court of small causes.
