Naadshri Music Academy identifies itself as a school for Hindustani classical music rooted in the traditions of Varanasi. The academy focuses on the guru-shishya parampara, a historical method of transmission where knowledge passes directly from a teacher to a student. Instruction here emphasizes the Banaras gharana, a musical lineage specific to the city that is characterized by its own distinct approach to ragas, rhythm, and listening.
