The Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple is identifiable by its brilliant golden spire, which gleams above the surrounding city of Varanasi. This shrine is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, or sacred centers of Shiva worship, and is dedicated to the Lord of the Universe. It sits on the western bank of the Ganges River, where many travel in search of spiritual liberation.
