Chousatti Ghat

Chousatti Ghat is marked by its steep stone steps that lead directly from the Ganges to the Chausath Yogini Temple. The name Chousatti means sixty-four, referring to a group of mystic deities known as the Yoginis who are honored at this site. Historical records and the Kashi Khanda text suggest that this location has been a center for spiritual and tantric practices since at least the fourteenth century.
