Darbhanga Ghat, (Varanasi)

Darbhanga Ghat stands out along the Ganges riverfront for its imposing palace, a structure built from sandstone from Chunar that features grand porches and Greek-style pillars. Originally established as Munshi Ghat in eighteen twelve by Sridhara Narayana Munshi, the finance minister of Nagpur state, the site was later purchased by the royal family of Darbhanga in nineteen fifteen. This acquisition led to its expansion and its current name, honoring the family's patronage of arts and culture in the region.
