Baba Keenaram Ashram, Varanasi - Aghor Peeth

Baba Keenaram Sthal is the global headquarters of the Aghori tradition, centered around a sacred pond known as Kring-Kund. The site is identified by the presence of a perpetual fire, or akhand dhuni, which is said to have been re-ignited by the seventeenth-century saint Baba Keenaram. Followers believe the saint was an incarnation of Lord Shiva who revived this ancient, dormant space to share the philosophy of Aghor, which seeks to reconcile the boundaries between life and death, and purity and pollution.
