The Satyalok Lahiri Mahasaya Temple sits in the narrow, winding lanes of the Bangali Tola neighborhood. It serves as a sanctuary and shrine dedicated to the nineteenth-century yogi Shyama Charan Lahiri, known as Lahiri Mahasaya. This location is distinct from the house where he lived, which is found at a separate address nearby and remains closed to the public for most of the year. The temple itself provides a space for meditation and houses a statue of Mahavatar Babaji, the figure who initiated Lahiri Mahasaya into the practice of Kriya Yoga in eighteen sixty-one.
