Harishchandra Ghat is one of the two primary cremation sites in Varanasi, a place where smoke rises continuously from wood pyres alongside a modern electric crematorium. It is often called the Adi Manikarnika, or the original cremation ground, and is regarded as one of the oldest ghats in the city.
