Dandi Ghat is distinguished by a collection of monastery buildings, known as maths, that serve as the residences for Dandi ascetics. These practitioners belong to the Dandi Panth and are identified by the staff, or danda, that they carry. The ghat was formally established as a distinct site by the merchant Lalluji Agrawal in eighteen twenty-one, with further structural support from Babu Sagaramal.
