Niranjani Ghat is distinguished by its quietude and its historic connection to the Naga ascetics who have maintained this riverfront for over a century. Unlike the busier landing stages nearby, this ghat is known for the Niranjani Akhara, a monastery established here in eighteen ninety-seven. Before it was set aside for these Shaivite monks, the land was part of the expansive royal compound belonging to the fort of Raja Chet Singh.
