Sankatha Ghat

Sankatha Ghat is recognizable by the steep, stone-paved steps that descend directly into the Ganges, flanked by a series of shrines and temples that rise from the water’s edge. Originally known as Yameshvara Ghat after a nearby shrine, it was later renamed for the Sankatha Devi Temple, which is dedicated to the goddess believed to protect her devotees from danger and difficulty.
