Namiyoke Shrine is marked by two massive, lion-headed sculptures that stand near the entrance. These figures, known as Shishi Gashira, honor the shrine's connection to the sea and its role as a guardian for the nearby Tsukiji district. Dedicated to the deity Inari Okami, the shrine has served as a center for prayers related to safety, business prosperity, and the prevention of misfortune since the seventeenth century.
