Kachidoki Bridge

Kachidoki Bridge is a two hundred forty-six meter long steel arch bridge that spans the mouth of the Sumida River. It is instantly recognizable by the massive central section that was once designed to split and rise, allowing river traffic to pass beneath it. When it opened in nineteen forty, it was celebrated as the finest movable bridge in the East, serving as a gateway for a world exposition that was ultimately never held.
