Peyote People is a gallery identified by the intricate, vibrant beadwork and yarn paintings displayed within its walls, which draw heavily on the spiritual traditions of the Wixárika, or Huichol, people of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Founded in nineteen ninety-seven by Kevin Simpson and his wife, Beatriz, the gallery operates as a fair-trade co-operative that provides artists with materials like iridescent glass beads and wood carvings.
