El Minaret is defined by the tall, Moorish-style observation tower that rises above its roofline. Built in nineteen oh eight by brothers Álvaro and Miguel Medina Ayora, this neoclassical mansion stands on the Paseo de Montejo. Its design follows French architectural trends of the time, featuring an elevated residence built over a basement level and a front portico lined with Ionic columns.
