Filux Lab occupies a renovated colonial-style house in the center of Mérida, distinguished by its stark white interior and exterior walls. This laboratory serves as a dedicated hub for the International Festival of Lights, or FILUX, functioning as a space for the production and exhibition of art centered on light and cinema. Architects from the local firm Workshop Diseño y Construcción updated the historic structure in twenty nineteen, stripping the rooms to a neutral canvas to ensure that every surface, including the floors and doors, could be used for artistic installations.
