Merida City Hall

The Mérida City Hall, or Palacio Municipal, is a colonial-era building on the southwest corner of the Plaza Grande defined by its pastel pink facade and double tier of white stone arches. It stands on the site of a pre-Hispanic Mayan mound known as Backluumchaan, which the Spanish conquistadors dismantled to provide stone for the city's first major colonial structures.
