The Câmara Municipal de Sintra is recognizable by a towering clock tower topped with a golden armillary sphere and clad in reflective blue and white tiles. Completed in nineteen oh nine, this building was designed by architect Arnaldo Adães Bermudes on the site of the former Chapel of São Sebastião. Its Neo-Manueline architecture features polylobed arches and decorative turrets that contrast with the more traditional buildings in the historic center.
