The Fonte Mourisca stands out for its elaborate Neo-Arab design, featuring a large horseshoe arch that encloses three smaller arches framed by colorful, geometric tiles. Built in nineteen twenty-two by the sculptor José da Fonseca, this structure was intended to dignify the mountain water of Sintra and provide an elegant gateway for those entering the town. Its top is decorated with stepped merlons that mirror the battlements of the nearby National Palace of Sintra.
