Fuchs Bakery & Cafe

Pius and Yolanda Fuchs founded this business sixty years ago, beginning in an improvised basement space. At that time, the Zermatt ski slopes ended directly in the village, and the bakery became a regular stop for skiers seeking coffee and a slice of Sachertorte after a day on the snow. While the village faced significant logistical hurdles, such as delivering hotel orders by sled through heavy winters, the bakery established itself by focusing on handmade goods and local ingredients.
