Mountaineer's Cemetery

The Mountaineer's Cemetery is a small, quiet enclosure tucked behind the walls of the Parish Church of Saint Mauritius. You can identify this site by the simple stone markers shaded by pine trees, which distinguish it from the standard village graveyard. It serves as a memorial for climbers who lost their lives on the Matterhorn, the Weisshorn, the Monte Rosa massif, and other surrounding peaks.
