Graycliff Hotel

The Graycliff Hotel is a white-washed colonial mansion with a prominent two-story veranda that distinguishes it from the surrounding buildings in downtown Nassau. Built in seventeen forty, the structure is linked to Captain John Howard Graysmith, a pirate who allegedly used his plunder to establish this residence on a hill overlooking the harbor. Its history includes serving as an American Navy garrison in seventeen seventy-six and later becoming the first public inn in Nassau by eighteen forty-four.
