The Nassau Public Library is a distinctive, flamingo-pink octagonal building located in the heart of Parliament Square. While it is now a place of study, the structure began as the Nassau Gaol, a colonial prison constructed between seventeen ninety-seven and seventeen ninety-eight by a Loyalist named Joseph Eve. The building was designed with an octagonal shape to provide guards in the center with a clear view into the surrounding cells.
