Gregory’s Arch is a limestone passage spanning Market Street that you can identify by its prominent, vault-like stone structure and, often, its bright pink paint. Opened in January eighteen fifty-two, the arch was named for John Gregory, who served as the royal governor of the Bahamas during its construction.
