German High School

The German High School, or Deutsche Schule Istanbul, is marked by a neoclassical building in the Beyoğlu district featuring a massive green iron gate. Founded in eighteen sixty-eight as a school for German and Swiss citizens, it originally operated in a rental building on Kumdibi Street before moving to its current location near the Galata Tower and the Galata Mawlawi House in eighteen ninety-seven.
