Centennial Rose Garden

The Centennial Rose Garden occupies a space near the western end of the Delaney Park Strip, nestled between ninth and tenth avenues. It is defined by its hedge of rugosa rose hybrids, the only remaining original plant material from when the garden was established in nineteen sixty-seven. That year marked the centennial of the Alaska Purchase from Russia, and the site was chosen for its vantage point overlooking Cook Inlet and the distant Alaska Range.
