WWII Soldier Statue

The Anchorage Veterans Memorial features a bronze statue of a soldier in combat attire holding a rifle. It stands within the long, open expanse of the Delaney Park Strip, a site that began as the city’s first airstrip before becoming a public park. The monument was erected on May twenty-eighth, two thousand one, to honor Alaskans who served in the armed forces.
