The Robert B. Atwood Building is a twenty-story, two hundred sixty-five-foot office tower in downtown Anchorage that ranks as the second-tallest building in Alaska. You can identify the structure by its modern steel-frame design, which stands out against the city skyline alongside the slightly taller ConocoPhillips Building. The tower is named for Robert Bruce Atwood, a newspaper editor and publisher who chaired the Alaska Statehood Committee and lobbied for the territory to become the forty-ninth state.
