Resolution Park sits at the west end of Third Avenue, identifiable as a multi-level wooden observation deck that cantilevers over the steep drop toward Cook Inlet. This small, urban space is named for the HMS Resolution, one of two ships commanded by Captain James Cook during his seventeen seventy-eight voyage into the waters below.
