The O'Donnell Golf Club, tucked against the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, is the oldest golf course in the Coachella Valley. Oil tycoon Thomas O'Donnell began building this nine-hole course in nineteen twenty-six, eventually gifting the land to the city of Palm Springs in nineteen forty-four. The property features a Spanish-Colonial Revival residence, commissioned in nineteen thirty-six as O'Donnell's private home, which later became the club's clubhouse.
