Forever Marilyn

Forever Marilyn is a twenty-six-foot-tall painted stainless steel and aluminum sculpture that depicts Marilyn Monroe with her dress billowing upward. Designed by artist Seward Johnson in twenty eleven, the work is a three-dimensional recreation of a famous photograph taken on the set of the nineteen fifty-five film, The Seven Year Itch. The figure weighs thirty-four thousand pounds and features a unique patina created with ten layers of hues to achieve a realistic skin tone.
