Melvyn’s at the Ingleside Estate

Melvyn’s at the Ingleside Estate is tucked behind manicured hedges at two hundred West Ramon Road, identifiable by the Spanish Colonial Revival architecture of the estate it inhabits. Originally built in nineteen twenty-two as a private home for the family of the Pierce-Arrow Motor Car Company founder, the property later became an exclusive, invitation-only retreat operated by Ruth Hardy. By the mid-nineteen seventies, the estate had fallen into disrepair until a Brooklyn-born entrepreneur named Mel Haber visited, purchased the site, and spent months restoring its courtyards and corridors.
