A life-size bronze statue of entertainer and politician Sonny Bono sits at the entrance to Plaza Mercado on South Palm Canyon Drive. The figure, sculpted by Emmanuel Snitkovsky and installed in two thousand one, depicts Bono with a wide grin, wearing an open-collared shirt and high-waisted pants. He is positioned beside a coin fountain, looking out toward the downtown area.
