Ida B. Wells Continuation High School is housed in a classic, turn-of-the-century brick building that overlooks the greenery of Alamo Square. Designed by architect Newton Tharp, the structure was originally completed in nineteen eleven as the Denman Grammar School. The building features historic masonry walls that were preserved during a comprehensive seismic upgrade and modernization project completed in twenty sixteen.
