Regency Center

cultural

The Regency Center is defined by its ornate facade at the corner of Van Ness Avenue and Sutter Street, a prominent display of Scottish Rite temple architecture. Built in nineteen oh nine and designed by architect Albert Roller, the building blends Gothic, Neoclassical, and Beaux-Arts styles. It was originally constructed as a Masonic lodge, and its interior preserves many of those early details, including original plaster molds and a hand-cranked elevator from the year it opened.
