The Ferryboat Santa Rosa is recognized by its distinct, elongated steel hull and the profile of a classic mid-twenties ferry, permanently moored at Pier Three. Built in nineteen twenty-seven in Alameda, she was the first steel-hulled, diesel-electric ferry to operate on the San Francisco Bay, originally linking the city to the Northwestern Pacific Railroad terminal in Sausalito.
