SS Jeremiah O'Brien

The SS Jeremiah O'Brien is a four hundred forty-one foot cargo ship with a distinctive gray steel hull that sits low in the water along the San Francisco waterfront. As a Liberty ship, she represents a class of over two thousand seven hundred vessels built as emergency workhorses during the second world war. While most were scrapped after the conflict, this ship survived decades in the mothball fleet at Suisun Bay before being rescued by volunteers.
