Hobart Building

The Hobart Building rises from the intersection of Market and Second Streets with a distinctive, lozenge-shaped tower that tapers toward its center. Completed in nineteen fourteen, this twenty-one-story structure was designed by architect Willis Polk, who reportedly held it as his favorite commercial commission. The building’s unusual silhouette is a direct response to the asymmetrical, polygonal plot of land it occupies.
