Kezar Stadium is an outdoor athletics venue located in the southeastern corner of Golden Gate Park, identifiable by its modern, modest grandstands and an eight-lane all-weather track. This facility occupies the site of a historic concrete bowl, designed by architect Willis Polk and opened in May nineteen twenty-five. The original structure, which seated nearly sixty thousand spectators, was a center for regional sports ranging from cricket and rugby to professional football.
