Amoeba Music is identifiable by the large, original marquee that still bears the font of the Park Bowl, the bowling alley that occupied this space before the record store opened on November fifteen, nineteen ninety-seven. Located at eighteen fifty-five Haight Street, the building retains a physical link to its past through the old bowling sign perched atop the tower, which the city of San Francisco required the owners to preserve.
