The Fallon Building stands at the intersection of Market, Octavia, and Waller streets, easily recognized by its trapezoidal shape, which conforms to the narrow gore lot it occupies. Built in eighteen ninety-four, this three-story Victorian structure features Queen Anne style elements, including ornate detailing at its cornice and main entrance. It was commissioned by Carmel Fallon, a Californio entrepreneur who used her divorce settlement from the former mayor of San Jose to invest in San Francisco real estate.
