Kinmon Gakuen

Kinmon Gakuen, also known as the Golden Gate Institute, sits at twenty-twenty-three Bush Street. This building, completed in nineteen twenty-six, is recognizable as a long-standing Japanese language and culture school. Founded in nineteen eleven, the institution became the most prominent school of its kind in California during the pre-war era, once reaching an enrollment of over six hundred students.
