Theodore F. Payne House

Theodore Fryatt Payne built his residence at fourteen oh nine Sutter Street in eighteen eighty-one, employing architect William Curlett to blend Stick, Eastlake, and Queen Anne styles. The house features an open octagonal candle-snuffer turret and several bay windows. It stands as one of the few surviving upper-class homes in the city from before the nineteen oh six earthquake and the fire that followed.
