California Volunteers Monument

The California Volunteers Monument is a bronze and granite sculpture featuring the goddess Bellona riding the winged horse Pegasus above two soldiers. One soldier lies fallen, while his companion stands nearby holding a pistol and sword. The bronze figures reach sixteen feet in height, resting on a granite base that adds another ten feet to the structure.
