The Florence Fang Community Farm is a one-acre garden located on a strip of land directly atop a functioning Caltrain tunnel in the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood. You can identify the site by its terraced beds and the contrast of its dense, green vegetation against the surrounding residential streets. Established in twenty-fourteen, it occupies the former grounds of the Demattei farm, which had been the final commercial farm operating in San Francisco until the late nineteen-eighties.
