The Hugo Hotel was a four-story brick building located at two hundred Sixth Street in the South of Market district. It was designed by Theo W. Lenzen and built in nineteen oh nine to provide residential housing for dockworkers and laborers. After a fire gutted the interior in nineteen eighty-seven, the structure sat vacant and boarded up for over two decades.
