Contemporary Jewish Museum

The Contemporary Jewish Museum is marked by a dramatic collision of styles. You will recognize it by the sharp, tilted cube of luminous blue stainless steel that appears to slice directly into a historic, red-brick power substation. This modern, deconstructivist addition—designed by architect Daniel Libeskind and opened in two thousand eight—is clad in over three thousand steel panels. These panels are engineered to catch and shift light, changing in color depending on the weather and your position.
