The American Bookbinders Museum is the only institution in North America dedicated to the history and craft of bookbinding. Tucked into the South of Market neighborhood, the museum functions as a repository for the heavy, intricate machinery that defined the transition from hand-bound volumes to industrialized production during the nineteenth century.
